Hitachi DS18DFLPC
I've had pretty good luck with Hitachi tools up until this one. The overall quality seems closer to a homeowner grade than the price would indicate. Number one problem is the chuck, which is continually either slipping the bit or jamming and having to be released with pliers. I think I should be able drill a 3/16 hole in hardwood without the bit slipping in the chuck! Number two is this drill is weak, with gloves on I can stop the drill by gripping the chuck, which I often do when trying to get the stupid chuck to grab the bit. Number three is the battery release which is uncannily stubborn. These are all problems ... 18V 1/2" Driver
